Hundreds of people gathered for a peaceful protest in central Madrid, Spain, on March 16 to demand better police treatment of street vendors following the death of a Senegalese man that sparked clashes with riot police. Mame Mbaye Ndiaye suffered a heart attack while walking away from police on March 15, Reuters reports, prompting protesters that night in Madrid's Lavapies neighborhood, home to migrant communities.
