Lemur Island residents receive many #ZooToyBox items throughout the day to keep their minds busy. Often, enrichment goes hand-in-hand with training. Primate keeper Emily Bricker is training our ring-tailed lemurs—Southside Johnny, Tom Petty, Bowie and Birch—to hold carabineers and stand still for a short period of time. This helps facilitate other husbandry training behaviors, such as teaching them to sit still on a scale. If they hang on to the carabineers, they receive raisins as a reward!
