This past weekend, Mazzy and I went on a Girl Scouts overnight trip to Rocking Horse Ranch. We went horseback riding, swam in the pool, raced on tubes down a track, watched a magic show and roasted marshmallows around a fire...among other things. There’s a certain freedom that comes from feeling like you are in safe environment and Mazzy had the time of her life, running around with her friends and taking it all in. I loved experiencing that joy and freedom with her. At one point, her friend started talking about going on a mother daughter trip and Mazzy said, “Mom! We should go on a Mother Daughter trip too!” And I was like, “Mazzy. What do you think this is???” Seriously, though. Some might join Girl Scouts for the badges or the cookies or the leadership skills, but I really love it for these trips.
