mending your cracks with golden repair. It is a metaphor to your life + it’s really just my way, as a Japanese American girl, of communicating that we are better, more resilient, more admired after we have been broken & mended back together.
healing + patience, acceptance + tolerance, endurance + observance. These things take time.
I am my mother’s daughter & although she never wanted to help me edit this book, the stories of the Japanese people I interviewed tell all.
