“I thought I couldn’t have babies. I had heard from other mothers that so much could go wrong – he could get sick, and so on – so I became scared,” says Verónica. “Maybe I shouldn’t have one, I thought. But then, when I had Liam, I felt so happy, and very emotional – it was like a dream come true. To prevent Liam from becoming anaemic - low on iron - a midwife visited me at my home before his birth. She taught me how to prepare food that’s rich in iron and other nutrients, like quinoa, spinach, cheese, eggs and milk.” To help more babies like Liam sign our petition!
