I’m gradually getting back to my gym routine post-surgery. As my nose was broken last week I have to be mindful not to do anything too energetic or that could bump my face so I’m using the treadmill at a pace of 4 for a gentle walk followed by slow body weight squats and 5kg dumbbells (instead of my usual 15-20kg) for my upper body and feel absolutely fine in myself. I’m not applying too much pressure, keeping my workout low impact and going at half my usual pace. In Spain I was shopping and hillwalking 24hrs after surgery so to be in the gym a week later is suitable for my lifestyle, yet everybody is different and heals in their own time. You know your own body, your limits and what feels right and what doesn’t. I’ll be saving my favourite pull-ups and leg press for next week! What does your Gym routine consist of my darlings?
