Photograph by @Cristina Mittermeier // The key to life on British Columbia's coast is salmon. During the fall months, millions of Pacific salmon run up the rivers and small tributaries along this biodiversity rich region. With the scent of salmon rolling up the hills, bears descend from the berry and crab apple patches to do their final feast of the season before their long winter's sleep. Southern Resident Orcas need to capture and feed on at least half a million Chinook salmon a year in order to grow their critically low numbers. Open-net Atlantic fish farms threaten the ebb and flow of this natural world. To learn more about why we need to #GetFishFarmsOut of the Broughton Archipelago, #FollowMe at @Cristina Mittermeier
