Photo by @salvarezphoto (Stephen Alvarez) | There is an old saying in photography “bad weather makes for good pictures.” I kept that in mind last week when I walked out into an evening rainstorm in the foothills of Cotopaxi Volcano. The combination of rain, setting sun and a brief opening in the western sky made for a spectacular display of light refracting through a suspended liquid. Most of us simply call it a rainbow. This one was brief -maybe 90 seconds at its maximum brightness- but that 90 seconds made getting wet completely worth it. #Ecuador #rainbow
