What I always loved most about the paper dresses, believe it or not, was the process and not the finished product. It was never sketched ahead of time, it was simply grabbing colors that inspired her and sitting down and watching the creativity unfold. There were lots of ‘mistakes’ which simply changed the direction of a dress, usually resulting in something better than the original concept. Today was a fun reminder of those days - we’re learning to crochet together, and we started with a scarf that got a little wide. So we decided it should be a blanket instead. And then when Mayhem noticed I messed up, causing a bit of a ruffle, she yelled “STOP! It’s perfect for a skirt!” There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t get a message about missing the paper dresses, and I get it. But truthfully, she’s just using all that creative thinking to tackle new projects and new mediums. And I’m pretty stoked for the front row seat ❤️ #FashionByMayhem
