Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone) // We have reached Zermatt in Switzerland and as part of this years @ナショナルジオグラフィック Student Expeditions (Swiss and French) Alps program, today we took a train up the Gornergrat railway to Rotenboden and hiked along a pathway running down parallel to the Gorner glacier. Looking out from inside a contact cave on the edge of the Gorner glacier, this photograph shows the shiny smooth shapes carved into the surface of the ice. Each one reflects the daylight that filters in from behind the explorer and illuminates the cave. Although the students from NGSE had a thirst for adventure, today we gave this type of adventure a miss and stuck to the surface world instead, especially as the sun was shinning!
