Have you ever had a gut feeling of certainty - a sense of knowing exactly what you want? In 2010, I dropped out of college and moved to Colorado ? I knew, without a shred of doubt, that I wanted to pursue my passion of climbing. I was never a great student anyways and told myself that school wasn’t for me. . For the past 8 years I’ve lived my dream; climbing, traveling, and building some of the best friendships I could ever ask for. Climbing provided the perfect classroom for me to experience life on my own terms. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned, and will continue to learn, are about facing fears and that which makes us uncomfortable. Only outside of our comfort zone are we able to change and evolve. . That being said, I’m nervous and scared and proud to tell you guys that I’ve re-enrolled in classes and am a college student once again!! ?? School is something I told myself I would never be able to finish. I’ve also told myself I would never be able to climb V13, turn my passion into a career, or have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on this world. I’ve slowly proven myself wrong a number of times. I hope that going back to school will give me a chance to prove myself wrong once again, and to grow in a setting that is unfamiliar and uncomfortable for me. . There’s a lot more I want to say about this decision but for now I’m just relieved to get it out there. I’ll still pursue my climbing goals and balance my career as best I can. But I’m also happy to prioritize this new direction and see where it takes me. Trusting my gut has gotten me this far ? and I’m happy to share my journey ??
