Healthy Shoulders Rule - this is what the 2018 climbing comp season taught us!
Some people think that bouldering is becoming bad for your shoulders per se, and that the route-setters should dial it back.
I don’t agree, imo we see a lot of problems originating from bad training (mind you, most injury is not acute trauma, but overuse)! Too monotonous, too many reps, not enough variation in loading the tissue, not enough emphasis on overhead mobility etc. etc. etc.
I think through smart multiplanar exercises you can improve reflexive timing and stability as well as Multi-joint integration in those demanding boulder moves. So for me, there is hope that you can enjoy this spectacular, acrobatic activity with healthy shoulders.
