Photo @stephen_matera // The Cascades aren't known for having good fall colors, but they actually have great color this time of year if you know where to look. Here the east slope of the central Cascades glow with fall colors on a rainy day in late September. A great place to see color like this is to drive along State Highway 2 over Stevens Pass towards Leavenworth which explodes with yellows and reds of vine maples and cottonwood trees in early October.
