This stone vessel tannery in Fez, Morocco is the oldest leather tannery in the world unchanged since the Middle Ages. The vessels are filled with dyes and liquids where hides are soaked in diluted acidic pigeon excrement. It smells bad but if you use some mint under your nose, you are good to go.
