Last light on the jagged peaks of the #LemaireChannel on the #Antarctica Peninsula. The Antarctic is warming faster than just about anywhere else on the globe and posing serious threats to the planet as a whole. Our polar regions deeply affect our oceans currents. As the cold water from the north and south collide with the warm waters of the equatorial regions it generates a sink and rise affect generated by heat and salinity thus circulating ocean water throughout the globe. It’s known as Thermohaline circulation, swipe to see a graph. As temperatures increase this natural turbine is at risk, a very scary scenario that would alter the oceans temperatures and weather substantially if it ceased.
