When a gunman opened fire at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California on Wednesday night, a chaotic scene unfolded. Some people ran. Some dropped to the dance floor. Some hid. Some fled from the building. But during the attack, the gunman fatally shot 12 people, including longtime sheriff deputy Ron Helus, who had rushed into the crowded bar to help.
