10-year-old Shuvo has been working in a balloon factory for the past 2 years; his father cannot afford to send him to school. The balloons the children make in this factory, will most likely end up at other children’s parties. The conditions in the factory where Shuvo works are toxic. We saw children working with rubbers, chemicals and acids without any protection. There are almost 3.5 million children currently working in Bangladesh, many in hazardous jobs that put their health, education and futures at risk.
