“‘The Red Studio’ always makes me think about the invisible world of particle physics; I always return to a conversation in my undergraduate art history class about whether the red that dominates the empty space was the artist painting light itself—rendering this ever-present, yet not always visible, form of electromagnetic waves as a permeating red substance. For me, ‘The Red Studio’ is a reminder of the importance of both art and science, and the broadening of perspectives that occurs through exposure to multiple disciplines. With the continued persistence of climate science denial, seeing the world through a scientific and critical-thinking lens while appreciating the environmental beauty around us feels especially relevant for the hard questions the world will face over the coming decades.” –Jan Postma (@janhpostma), our Chief Financial Officer
