"The person you think of when you stand in front of the ocean. That's the person you're in love with."? Sitting in front of the ocean, I meditated on that. And it made me think about not only who I love, but why and how I love. Love comes in many forms and languages. It allows us to express ourself as individuals, all being different. However, as beautiful and strong as love can be, it can also be totally misunderstood. So let me ask you this. Why do you give love? Are you giving it looking for something in return? Really think about that...and be honest with yourself. In my experiences, loving with "conditions" is something that we don't realize we're doing and something I myself have done for a long time and still do. A lot of times we don't see our own expectations in the love we give to the people we care about the most. We only allow a person to shine in a way that only we can see, what we feel is "right" or "best" for them. Ultimately, it's only limiting their ability to fully embrace the potential they withhold internally and externally. We love with an idea or picture of what we want, what we need, and how we want to feel. But this is not love. True love gives with no constraints. It's supporting each other in happiness, sadness, and everything in between. When we love with an expectation, it is inevitable that it will let us down in the end. No one will always be able to fit into our perfect image of what love is. But when we love unconditionally, it gives us and the other a sense of freedom. If you're giving love with an intention of getting something in return, it instantly limits the possibilities of love. It shallows the depth in which we can dive into each other's hearts. Consequently restricting our potential to be content and free with ourselves. So going forward let's be fearless in the love we give to ourselves, the ones we care about most, and the world. Loving with no boundaries will somehow always come back to us, maybe not on our timetable, but just at the right moment when we are fully ready to embrace it.❤️❤️
