SLEEPING ON ASSIGNMENT // places I sleep shooting stories for @ナショナルジオグラフィック // To photograph Galapagos Hawks (Pic 1) on the rim of Alcedo Volcano (Pic 2) I hiked for 10 hours to reach a ramshackle research hut (Pic 3) spectacularly perched at the edge of the caldera. Since the hut is only intermittently used we had to shovel a mountain of rat poop off the mattresses and bunk beds before moving in for the week. In the end I decided to put up my tent inside the hut, while my assistants @ottowhitehead and @animal_ocean opted for the beds and woke up in the middle of the night with rats nibbling on their toes. #livingthedream #bedroomgoals #onassignment
