While the rest of the tech world is brainstorming how to improve privacy, an Apple privacy issue was spotted by a 14-year-old boy trying to play “Fortnite” with his friends.
Grant Thompson realized he could hear his friends on the other line when putting together a group FaceTime, before they answered the call. But it wasn’t until an article was published exposing the flaw that a representative from Apple reached out to Grant and his family.
Grant’s discovery makes him eligible for the “bug bounty program.” Although the reward amount is unknown, Grant’s mom already plans on putting the money into a college fund.
You can read more about Grant and watch the interview on “Squawk Box,” at the link in bio. *
