I recorded a podcast episode with one of the coolest women of all time tonight and when I came I had to sit down and just be with this warm feeling in my belly. Inhale. Exhale. Again, again. I am so grateful. You know those moments that make you feel like everything has fallen into place? That give you the motivation to keep going? That remind you that you’re not alone? This conversation was all of that to me. I can’t wait to share it with you. ⁣ I started this podcast two years ago, one week postpartum. Just getting the hour to record felt impossible. I was in tears over leaving the baby for the first time and wondering what I’d gotten myself into. “No one is going to listen to this”, I thought. I had to stop and redo the first episode because Luna cried downstairs and my boobs hurt so much I couldn’t take it. I didn’t know what I was doing - I just wanted to tell a piece of my story. We’d bought cheap equipment off Amazon and I didn’t know if I was any good and I was scared shitless no one would care or maybe I’d say the wrong thing or everyone would realize I’m a fraud. Starting this podcast was a step into something totally new for me. Every week, no matter what I’m going through or where I am, I record. In two years, I’ve never missed an episode. It’s been awesome, but there have been weeks when I’ve been sick, sad, unmotivated - no matter what, I’d still plug my mic into the recorder and make space to tell the story. I’ve had episodes that felt great and episodes I felt like deleting. Stories that came easy and stories I had to pull from deep down in the bottom of my chest. The point is... I kept going. And today I got to have one of the worlds most talented and recognized women in the world on the show. If someone would have told me 22 months ago, sitting by the microphone in tears, boobs leaking, full of self-doubt; that one day @hilaryswank will be on the other end of this conversation with you? I would have never believed it. ⁣ ⁣ Wake up every day and do what you have to do to move a step closer toward your dreams. Make the choice to keep going... And then wake up tomorrow and make it again. EVERYTHING is possible. Don’t give up. x
