DAY 3 << highlights from Onibus Coffee coffee origin expedition in Costa Rica>>
We visited another passionate coffee producer; Los Grandes de Copey from Don Antonio in a beautiful location in Copey, Tarazu region.
We walked up to the high part of their farm and picked beautifully ripen cherries both Geisha and Cattura. We collected 11kg of cherries with 7 guys in a hour, but the amount that a single picker can regularly collect.... nah..
＜＜コスタリカコーヒー農園を巡る旅の3日目のハイライト＞＞
3日目は、タラス地域コペイ地区のプロデューサーの農園に行き、コーヒーチェリーのピッキングを体験してきました。
ピッカーさんと同じく、ティナと呼ばれるカゴを腰に付け、ここで約2時間のピッキング体験。1時間集中してでピックできたのは、7人で約11kg。
この量は、ピッカーさん１人が1時間で収穫する量だそうです。

現地では｢牛の血液の色｣と表現される、茜いろに完熟したチェリーを選びながら、他のチェリーやコーヒーツリーを傷めないようにピッキングしていくのは、とても神経を使う作業です。
コーヒー生産に関わる重要な｢収穫｣パートの大変さを、身をもって体験する貴重な時間となりました。
