〜Part 3 • Defining your style〜
・
When you start to minimalize your wardrobe, you will eventually define your style. Over the years of decluttering, my wardrobe would become more capsule and minimal. I would declutter the clothes which I have not worn for more than 2 years. Those were the ones that was low quality in material and would lose shape/ color after dozens of wash. Too colourful with prints, the ‘statement clothes’ which I would get bored after repeatedly worn. Clothes that was too trendy, bought from some sale or just uncomfortable to wear.
・
If I were to define my style in just few words, it would be ‘simple & chic’.
・
Now I have very simple and timeless pieces where I can mix and match in so many different ways. There is no boredom. Only left with the quality pieces in my capsule wardrobe, I realize I don’t need too many things to make me feel satisfied or happy. I don’t need to chase trends or rush to seasonal Sale anymore and I can live a happy & calm life without it. Having and living with the only good quality things that makes me feel fulfilled, not just my style but my lifestyle became more ‘simple & chic’. I will talk about this more later.
・
Example of my outfits.. I only repeat 3-5 jeans from AG Jeans. I’ve tried other brands such as rag&bone or Current Elliot but after decluttering, I was left with denim from AG. They never loose shape even after 6-7 years of washing. Extremely comfortable. That’s probably the reason why I would bring in this brand for my business (@sutequi) Also a Camel color trouser I bought in back in Japan. I’ve had this since 2007, a 12 year old piece!! I still love it and enjoy doing mix and match.
