Just buy your cats sturdy scratching posts, scratching pads, give them a nail trim a couple times a month, and if you need to, take the time to train them. Deterrents are available also. It’s easy to take the humane route.
Just please be a decent human being and don’t declaw your cats.

kittster Swiss animal welfare regulations even stipulate that indoor cats must have scratching opportunities and a cat tree (or similar) where they can hang out at least 5 feet above the ground. We also banned declawing in the early eighties. Coincidence? 😉
