Photo by @lucalocatelliphoto | A 10-hectare tomato greenhouse in the Netherlands. It’s unbelievable how productive tomato crops can be with this advanced Dutch technology that can produce up to 10 times the amount of tomatoes more than a standard crop—using 95 percent less water.

Producing more with less is the aim of the horticulture revolution in this country. As an Italian, I was also surprised by the taste of the tomatoes. Is this the future of farming? Is this the way we can produce a greater amount without asking too much of our planet? We may be uncertain about the best solution, but for sure we need to do something to save ourselves from climate catastrophe and hunger in the coming decades.
