Happy Women’s Day to all the women out there! As a few people know, I was born and raised in a strongly matriarchal family, which taught me from a very young age to think for myself and be highly independent. My mother pushed my sister and I to become strong women and to always seek to be a better version of ourselves. Some could portray it as tough love, yet I see it as her passing on her incredible strength to go through life. As I struggled to face severe anxiety (agoraphobia) as a teenager, my mother was the one who refused for me to take medication and pushed me to get over it on my own. The mental strength built from that not only allowed me to have the courage to one day quit everything to pursue a passion, but also to always keep trying no matter how hard it can be. I was born a wuss and she made me a warrior. I’ve decided to post photos of the women I grew up around and who make me beyond proud to be a girl! The first photo is my grand-mother, who’s about to turn 101 years old! The second photo is my mother (the mothership ?) oh and my dad (don’t tell him he’s short he doesn’t like it ?), my beautiful sister @frederiquethomas1 who’s extremely talented and blows my mind every day , my best friend @jessiann_gravel , mother of 2, entrepreneur and obvs gorgeous model (even though she makes me feel like a midget when I’m next to her ?), Dominique, my childhood best friend, who grew up by my side since we were 2 years old (the two ugly ducklings at kindergartens, seriously), @dominiquetropique She is by far the kindest and most caring human being I’ve ever met. Malou, my sister best friend @malouzamour who’s been impressing me numerous times for the last 18 years and finally Baya, my half sister (not really, but kinda), the Senegalese Algerian princess ???❤️
