Authorities are praising a slain student as a hero for “taking the fight” to the gunman, who had "quite a bit of ammo," as the attack began at the school's Kennedy building on Tuesday. Riley Howell, 21, lunged and “took the assailant off his feet." Howell was said to have followed active-shooter training, which instructs people to “run, hide, fight.” Soon after, a local police chief said, officers rushed into the classroom and disarmed the assailant.
