Photo by Steve Winter @stevewinterphoto | Forests are vitally important to our blue planet; they provide us with about 50% of the wildlife and 2/3 of the plant life on Earth, and 80% of the world's biodiversity is found in forests. Forests pump the oxygen we need to live. Each tree produces enough oxygen for 12 people. They cool the planet by absorbing carbon and they provide us with freshwater, as they help make it rain! Forests, grasslands, and mountains provide 75% of freshwater. Our planet is connected and we are part of it all. We need to work toward a future in which we protect 50% of our planet, so we have a future for generations to come. Take a walk in the woods and hear the symphony of nature, or take a walk on the beach, and you will find that nature heals. @africaparksnetwork @sanctuaryasia
