Estados preserve in Argentina, rock hopper penguins earn their name. These pugnacious birds are only two feet tall, and forage for months in the ocean. They return to land to molt and breed in colonies assembled on bare rock. With their red eyes and peculiar personalities, they're my favorite penguin.
