Though I’ve dipped in and out of various projects over the years I’ve worked, per year for a maximum of just a few weeks, often with mountain hares, or my swans, foxes and badgers. At the moment I am working at dawn and dusk, sleeping in the day if the opportunity arises but both projects that I’m currently working on are yielding decent results. Take this image for example, captured yesterday morning at dawn, represents something completely new to me, even though swans have been the species that I’ve worked with the most. That being said there are only a few weeks of each year when I do work with them, usually based around critical aspects of their life cycle. When the cygnets are young for example the opportunities are fantastic, weather permitting and as brutal as 4am starts are every morning I’m producing hundreds if not thousands of images. Of course most of them are absolute rubbish, flawed in one way or another but by working hard and reacting organically every now again all of my ducks, or my cygnets will line up in a row. Here I love the coffee colour of the foreground, caused by of all things a concrete weir, testament to the fact that beauty can be found anywhere, as long as one invests enough time exploring, reacting, watching and learning. My elarning continues every day and whilst I adore my cygnets I probably won’t be too devastated if there’s a cloudy morning one morning, I could do with a proper nights’ sleep!」5月21日 6時57分 - thephotosociety
