Louis has been waiting two months at this centre for his family’s number to be called, following a new process of seeking political asylum in the United States of America, its border only two mile (3.2 km) away. Louis, his wife and four children had to flee El Salvador due to death threats from gangs, leaving everything behind, travelling on foot and by trains, or else likely be killed in their homeland.
