I’m still not over how much fun we had “glamping” on Governor’s Island with the Girl Scouts. There have been lots of questions, so I will answer the most important ones. 1) Anybody can do the camping trip and you can just get one tent. You do not need to be in a group. 2) You can also just go to Governor’s Island for the day. It’s open to the public, and most things, like the playgrounds and the junkyard, are FREE. The ferry over there is free too and it’s just a ten minute ride over from Manhattan. 3) The junkyard is AWESOME. Yes, it might seem dangerous but studies show there are lots of benefits to this kind of independent play. Also, it’s pretty freeing when a place tells you that you are NOT ALLOWED to watch your kid. What a concept! 4) That guitar player was LIVE music 🎶🙌🏻 #governorsisland #collectiveretreats #girlscouts #nyc
