He had grown up in a family & they decided they couldn’t care for him any longer & he was scheduled to be euthanized, since Singers do not do well in shelters!!! He was 10 years old!!! As soon as I saw the post on Facebook- I told Dave that we had to save #Archie!!! Dave agreed that we had to step in and give this amazing rare dog a loving home.... with only around 250 singers left in the captive population, we couldn’t let one precious soul die.... #theydeservebetter well, He was on the East Coast and we were on the West, middle of summer... so he had to be driven across the country.... we knew his time was almost up!!! Thru the love of amazing people from different rescues, he was driven across the country to us!!! #takesavillage . Archer was one special boy alright!!! He scares the bijesus out of everyone he meets when he lets out a loud ear piercing scream and he happily pees all over every surface in the house.... but we learned to put pee pads up the walls and prepare new people about his screams!!! He was very unique and so very special!! Archer’s sister was Samber who produced many litters at the SD zoo... including Huli (the boys father and responsible for all their bad behaviors!!).. Well, yesterday Archie was diagnosed with a tumor in his intestines and underwent emergency surgery at Veterinary Specialty Hospital- North County! While he did well thru the surgery- Huge thank you to Dr Ganz for his excellent care.... we just don’t know what his prognosis is going to be at this point...he has a long road to recovery and we have to wait to see what the pathology reports conclude about the type of cancer. .
