Cattle ranches throughout the Greater Everglades provide crucial wildlife habitat and keep a statewide network of public and private lands connected. This particular ranch is protected by a conservation easement. But most of Florida's agricultural lands are threatened by sprawling development. On average, 1,000 people move to Florida every day. Without more investment in conservation, we will continue to lose more than 100,000 acres of wildlife habitat every year to development.
