フィラデルフィア美術館のインスタグラム(philamuseum) - 7月8日 05時42分
This work by Henri de #ToulouseLautrec depicts a specific evening when “Valentine the Boneless,” a man known only by his nickname and his incredible flexibility, taught another dancer the can-can. This painting hung behind the bar at the #MoulinRouge, a popular nightclub in Paris, and many of the figures are recognizable dancers, musicians, and celebrities of Parisian nightlife. Lautrec himself had a reserved table in the club, and it was one of his favorite subjects to paint. See this work and more in “The #ImpressionistsEye” open now through August 18.
