Leatherback Sea Turtle Gallery - Swipe left. Trinidad’s Grande Rivière beach is the highest density nesting beach in the world. During peak season up to 300 of these giants crawl out of the ocean along just half a mile of beach every night. I made the first two photographs (Leatherback with shipwreck and female turtle excavating nest) using only infrared light to avoid disturbing the turtles at night.
