Two and a half years ago, @AmandaPetrusich sent a letter to Wendell Berry, the 84-year-old author of more than eighty books of poetry, fiction, and essays, and a longtime advocate for responsible, small-scale agriculture. The two corresponded by mail for a year (he does not own a computer or cell phone), and in November, 2018, Berry invited Petrusich to visit him at his farmhouse, in Kentucky, where he has lived with his wife, Tanya, since 1965. "Somehow, you just get led to where you’re supposed to be, if you’re willing to submit," he said. At the link in our bio, Berry talks writing, agrarianism, limits, farming, place, home, and love. I loved this piece. Usually I have a lot of noise around me, but I had a moment of having a quiet house to myself, and it was even better that way.
