I’m incredibly humbled to know all four of the players being enshrined into Cooperstown today. They are four titans who richly deserve to be recognized for generations to come in the Hall of Fame.

Mariano Rivera is my brother and simply the greatest relief pitcher ever. The first unanimous selection. He was unflappable on the mound, an incredible athlete and an amazing teammate and friend,
who was never afraid to hold me accountable and push me to perform to his high standards.

Mike Mussina drove me crazy on the mound before he was my teammate. I never knew what he was thinking. He is so damn smart and I always enjoyed our fascinating conversations. He was revered in our clubhouse and helped me get my swing right.

Edgar Martinez was the teammate who I stalked constantly to learn about the craft. I was 18 years old and Papi taught me everything. He is the most clutch guy, the nicest, the person you could count on.

Roy Halladay was the best pitcher in the world at the peak of his career. 9 innings was par for him. He was an incredible competitor that we couldn’t beat.
