That thing you really don’t want to do but that you know is really fucking good for you? GO DO IT. Do that thing! Do it now! For me, today, it was a 20-minute run. I had a million excuses. A billion. I’m tired. It’s the first day of my period. I’d rather spend time with the baby. Casa de Papel is on Netflix. I have an inbox to tend to. Someone has to make dinner. The dogs need a walk. Excuses excuses excuses excuses until finally I just got off the couch, put my shoes on and went for that damn run. AND IT SUCKED. Most of it. But I did it. And now I feel amazing!!!! 20 minutes of my day is next to nothing. I know for a fact that I feel good in my body when I’ve moved. It’s good for me to get my pulse up, to sweat, to get my heart rate going. I’m out of my comfort zone when I run and it’s hard and I have so many excuses but still I went and did it. And let me tell you: it’s worth it.
The key to moving forward is to continue doing all the things that do us good - even when we don’t feel like it. The hard, the boring, the mundane. Creating the kind of life you want requires discipline and discipline sometimes means we do things even when they are hard. So commit to that daily yoga practice. Go for that run. Do the laundry. Clean the house. Take out the trash. Do your taxes. DO THEM THINGS! Plant those seeds. Then sit back, relax, and watch them grow🌱

@mcbridget Thank you for this comment! Its so rare to see executive dysfunction inclusivity in these kinds of things! I appreciate the extra help/reminder! Its like having an extra extra roadblock in starting all of the things we have to do but dont want to do. Going give the FIRST STEP model a go today. Xo

Yes, yes, yes! So much yes! I always need to hear these things! And I totally agree! We spend probably more time trying to ignore doing the things we know we should than actually doing them! So why not just do them?! Thank you @yoga_girl for the reminder and so much more!

I remember one time a long time ago you said it sucks that die when you don't water them and take care of them and I laughed because it's so true and I get annoyed by it sometimes but our bodies are the same way! 🌸🌵💕🙏😍✌️

@ktfrye it’s a book but the gist is that if you think of doing something, you have five seconds to take action before your brain will convince you otherwise. So basically, take action on a thought within 5 seco ds

@anniejeanne agree with yin yoga! It took me 9 months post partum to get fully back into yoga.. start small with legs up the wall or even just seated twists. Whatever movements feel yummy for you 💛
