For me, today, it was a 20-minute run. I had a million excuses. A billion. I’m tired. It’s the first day of my period. I’d rather spend time with the baby. Casa de Papel is on Netflix. I have an inbox to tend to. Someone has to make dinner. The dogs need a walk. Excuses excuses excuses excuses until finally I just got off the couch, put my shoes on and went for that damn run. AND IT SUCKED. Most of it. But I did it. And now I feel amazing!!!! 20 minutes of my day is next to nothing. I know for a fact that I feel good in my body when I’ve moved. It’s good for me to get my pulse up, to sweat, to get my heart rate going. I’m out of my comfort zone when I run and it’s hard and I have so many excuses but still I went and did it. And let me tell you: it’s worth it.⁣ ⁣ The key to moving forward is to continue doing all the things that do us good - even when we don’t feel like it. The hard, the boring, the mundane. Creating the kind of life you want requires discipline and discipline sometimes means we do things even when they are hard. So commit to that daily yoga practice. Go for that run. Do the laundry.
