What do you think of juices? Do you think that they're like the unsophisticated older cousin of the smoothie, or do you think that they should be judged on in their own right as a precursor to the blended fruit concoction? To me, it reminds me of that famous notion that today's avant-garde is tomorrow's wallpaper. I know people who refuse to even sniff a juice because of a tightly held prejudice that holds them in the lowest of esteem. Meanwhile, they feign a forward-thinking, debonair edge despite sipping on their smoothies through single-use plastic straws. I personally see the value in both and don't really get what all the fighting is about. I guess the whole cold-pressed thing has inspired a critical reappraisal of the beverage, but I think I'd still take a simple squeezed OJ over any new-fangled re-invention of the wheel any morning of the week. Call me a plebeian but sometimes the most simple recipes are the most elegant, wouldn't you agree, Nigey? Anyway, wishing you your healthy dose of daily vitamins and I hope you're having a lovely day!

@nigellalawson OMG OMG OMG! 2 of my most favorite things combined...you and passion fruit! They’re very expensive in the US, and most people don’t even know what they are. My husband and I became addicted to them while spending 3 weeks traveling Australia and New Zealand.

I made it yesterday as I had a load of passionfruit (bought 13 for $1 in a fruit shop down the road). Served it with croissants to impress my new man 😜
