Subway is exploring the plant-based protein trend with a meatless meatball sub. The sandwich chain will start selling the product, made with Beyond Meat’s plant-based protein, at 685 restaurants in the US and Canada next month. Several fast-food chains, including Dunkin’ and Burger King, are also testing out menu items featuring meat substitutes to attract consumers who want to eat less meat for health or environmental reasons. batmaniish Listen I forget what channel it was on. But the tv behind the glass in the store window had a news panel up talking about how meat is wasteful. Now, I was reading lips, so I may be way off here, but the lady, who was a vegetarian, was basically saying too much meat and not enough cruciferous vegetables leads to our leading causes of deaths, of cancer.
