Exploring my 50th country: Croatia 🇭🇷🥳
In celebration, here a handful of things I’ve learnt from my adventures in 50 countries:
1️⃣ Always have travel insurance. You never know when your bowel is gonna spontaneously twist 😝
2️⃣ Travelling shoulder season is always a good idea. You save money and avoid crowds! Airbnb is also a massive money saver 💰
3️⃣ Kindness is the universal language. When we live in our own bubble we can feel disconnected from those in other countries and cultures. Ultimately we are all one 👯‍♀️
4️⃣ Great things come when you step out your comfort zone. Going to a place which is a little daunting. Climbing a challenging mountain. Travelling solo. These experiences shape us and force us to grow 🌱
5️⃣ I used to be an all inclusive sunbathing holiday kinda gal. There’s nothing wrong with these trips (sometimes we just need to recharge our batteries!) - but my favourite memories have all been the ones where I really got immersed in the local culture & environment 🏔
6️⃣ Hidden gems are waiting to be uncovered. Those destinations that your mates haven’t even heard of? You’ll probably have the best time there 💎
7️⃣ There’s no place like home. I always love returning to England. It may be a little rainy but it’s where my biggest loves in life are: friends, family & @antonymaule 🥰

beonewiththesea My favourite country so far was Sri Lanka. The people were so friendly and welcoming! We made sure we ate local the whole tome we were there. The best meal was when we stumbled across this local bbq restaurant. They bbq all the fish they had caught that day. It was such an incredible meal and cost pennies!

maddyandersonn_ I'm loving these posts because my list of countries I want to travel is expanding, and the order is adjusting 😂🙌 Slovenia was one I never even thought of visiting but I'm 110% going there now, and Croatia was going to be a "drive through" country but thats been changed too ✨

katieleighbradley_ Japan has probably been my fav so far. If you haven't been you should check it out. You're so lucky to have been able to see so much of the world. I would have never considered Slovenia but now because of you I really hope to go someday! Looks stunning.

cookiewithbenefits I don’t think it’s a great idea to promote travelling using Airbnb. You should read a bit more about the negative impacts it has on neighbourhoods and on people’s lives in general. Just stick to hostels, Couchsurfing etc Thank you

thelifeof_lindseyb Hawaii (not technically a country but also kind of is 😉) stole my heart - it’s so beautiful and epic 🙌🏻 I’m currently in Malaysia and I have to say I am LOVING it - the people are so kind and friendly ❤️

janetbargmann These are some reminders for me when I go to Thailand! I’m going to be working as a teacher for 5 months and I’m excited but also very nervous because I’ve never been to south east Asia!!
