I want the house clean and organized so I can relax when I’m home. I need to sleep well, drink tons of water, put my phone away. and yes, some days these things are hard. I don’t feel like moving and the house is a mess and I’m too tired to clean up and I’d rather eat a bag of chips than actually cook and in those moments, I compromise. I eat the chips and then I move. not out of guilt or shame but because I know it makes me feel good. it puts me in the way of happiness. right now I’d much rather lie on the couch and watch the office but I have a deadline and I know that doing what I have to do now will ease my mind and clear the way for a good start of the new week tomorrow. so I do it. I sit down and I do the thing. it’s boring. it’s Sunday - everyone else is off and resting or doing fun stuff and it would be easy for me to feel resentful because of that. so I remind myself that, everyone else doesn’t have the same goals as me.
