If you think these buildings look like they blend in with nature, you’re right. They were designed that way. Architect Ma Yansong took the shapes, geometries, and contour lines from the nearby mountains and used those metrics to create this residential complex in China. Each building has a different shape, size, and height so that they look like a true extension of their environment. When Ma first visited this site, he felt like the land was too beautiful to build on. But he knew if he didn’t take on the project, someone else would come in and build standard urban towers, so he embraced the challenge.
