Living away from one side of the family or the other, has always meant holiday travel for us. We’ve been making the OH <-> GA trek since Sydney was 9 months old, so this was year 10 for that too. We’ve traveled before Christmas, after Christmas, and even on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But never ever, have we taken care of ALL family visits and obligations before Christmas Day. Until this year. We spent all of last week in Ohio, drove back Sunday, had an extended family Christmas on Monday, and celebrated Sydney’s birthday yesterday. Today, we woke up in our own beds, with no schedule for the day. And it was quite possibly the best gift of all.
