I am getting ready to feast on some homemade duk manduguk, which is a Korean rice cake and potsticker soup, and has been a family tradition in celebration of the Lunar New Year for many generations. I also have my own unconventional ways of celebrating special occasions, so the early morning and afternoon were largely spent enjoying an excursion to towns previously unbeknownst to me and my company of adventurers. To no one’s surprise, a curious used bookstore hidden away from the main streets was the hit of the day. That and the zigzagging backroads which made for imaginative narratives of where the road might lead us ha! All in all, I couldn’t think of a better way to walk through a new door: adventuring, laughing, imagining up wonder-filled lore, and making memories with the people I love.
