As an outdoor lover I really gravitated to this formation, and it was one of the top destinations I wanted to photograph and paint in Abu Dhabi. After a surreal, foggy sunrise spent doing a big, mixed-media art piece on canvas, we spent most of the day visiting the sites at the base of the mountain—such as ancient tombs and historic forts—hoping that the clouds would clear and a moment like this would unfold.
