A reminder to come join me on a @ナショナルジオグラフィック Live event at noon EST. I will be talking about my June Cover article on WWII veterans, "The Last Voices of World War II". I will be talking with Gene Polinsky, a 99 year old vet who served in the OSS (precursor to the CIA) as a navigator on the 24-B Liberator. He worked with the Belgium underground to help liberate the harbor of Antwerp.
He went on to become a Grammy award winning playwright, producer and actor on Broadway.
He is an amazing man, who has lived an incredible life. #natgeoonassignment #natgeo #WWII #WWIIveterans
