My late father would make fried chicken at home which tastes way better than KFC, using Kentucky powder and evaporated milk. He would eat it with warm rice and us kids just plain without the need of any sauce or side dishes. I never got the recipe from dad and I don’t think mum has it as well as fried chicken was pretty much his ‘territory’ and he was very protective of it. After seeing Bong’s fried chicken it reminds me very much of what my dad used to do so I quickly ordered a few packs of tepung Bestari to try it out. I still can’t taste much while healing after my surgery but @kvijaynathan confirmed it is nice “but different from KFC” with just the right amount of crispiness. For the next batch probably I might experiment with an overnight buttermilk marinate and a minor adjustment to the coating.
